Frequently Asked Questions
Beginning a new strength program is a significant step, especially if you haven’t trained for a while or are managing health conditions. Here are the most common questions I get from adults 40+ starting their journey at Vintage Strength.
Am I too old to start strength training?
Absolutely not. In fact, strength training becomes more important as we age. I specialize in training adults in their 40s, 50s, 60s, and beyond. My level 3 Award in Exercise for Older Adults ensures every movement is safe, effective, and adapted to your current stage of life.
I haven't exercised in years. Will the training be too intense?
We move entirely at your pace. Your initial assessment tells me exactly where to start. We focus on proper form and building a solid foundation first. This isn't a boot camp; it's professional coaching designed to challenge you safely without leaving you overwhelmed.
I have old injuries and joint pain—can I still train?
Yes. Many of my clients come to me specifically because they want to strengthen the muscles around their joints and improve mobility. We work within your range of motion and select exercises that benefit your body without causing unnecessary pain or aggravation to old injuries.
How many sessions per week do I need to see results?
Consistency is key. For most adults starting out, two sessions per week provide the ideal balance between stimulus and recovery. This allows your body to adapt and grow stronger while fitting into a busy lifestyle. We can adjust this as your fitness improves.
What are your pricing plans?
I offer transparent block-booking and monthly plans designed for commitment. Whether you choose individual sessions or a structured package, the focus is on providing expert 1-on-1 coaching that delivers measurable results. Please see my 'Pricing' section for full details.
How do I get started?
The first step is a simple consultation. We'll have a friendly chat in my private studio to discuss your history, goals, and any concerns. No pressure, just a chance for us to see if we're a good fit for your fitness journey. You can book this via the form at the bottom of the page.
